Can anyone give the meaning of Short block and long block

Whats up, like the title what consists of a long block and a short block, thanks in advance

short block is just the block it self with crank, pistons, rods and misc, sensors and water pump oil pump.
long block is the head and block intact. there is no guarantee on what sensors you will get though.
