Default ahahaha....mother$$%*^(*&&

well, my tranny is done. i was driving around testing my new tires (toyo z24 mounted on some volks gtn). let me tell u, they suck. it cost me a tranny. guess it was old...POS.

anyways, i was rolling at like 50-60 and drop it into 2nd. its a cx tranny, what can u expect, but long gears. 1st time around, it hooked and pulled. 2nd time...well it was drop and BOOM! nothing but crazy grinding like a piston went out...good thing it wasnt. plus im boosted, so u know...i was think that the motor was gone. it only had 39k on it...still a baby.

i have another motor and tranny at home, so we pulled, push...everthing except for a tow truck to get it home. good thing it fwaked up close to home too. the extra tranny i have is an ex, but slips 2nd...so i gotta go buy a new 1. damn hondas!

hopefully i dont think of selling it after i fix it.

cliff...dont drop into 2nd at 50-60.

Did you try rpm matching before you dumped the clutch? You should've been good up to 65-70 before hitting redline depending on the motor you've got.

Also you might wanna make the topic a little more clear as to what the post is about in case people are searching.

I'm wondering what anyone is getting outta this post,

in essence your saying you blew your tranny and now you need to put a new one in, and the new one slips in 2nd gear...

for you...

when ever i drop to second in my cx goin 60 that really hurts the car second gear redlines around 60. i try to rev match now when droping it to second its takes alot of stress off the tranny trying to get up to speed

With my CX tranny second gear is done at about 71 or so.

Make sure you ALWAYS rpm match when downshifting.

I edited your title to actually mean something.

also be glad you're only blowing SOHC trannies.

I've destroyed 3 Integra Type R trannies already since I used to run some stupid-*** crazy puck clutch set-up in my car.

After 3 rebuilds at about $1,000.00 a piece (parts only, labor was done here at my shop for free) I got wise and purchased a full faced disc and a brand new ITR tranny from the dealer.

i do it all day on an ex tranny. no problems here. as long as you revmatch, everythings cool. but if you're downshifting like grandma, than yea... that's bad.

rev matching is your friend. and if you are boosted, i really dont see the need to drop to 2nd above 50mph

Sounds like someone threw it into second as fast as they could and popped the clutch
