Castrol SMX-S manual tranny fluid
Anyone ever used this stuff?
I have been trying to find the GM syncromesh w/friction modifiers, but can't find it around here, and I don't know about mailing fluids like that over seas.
Any opinions from experiance with it?

Ok, so I bit the bullet, and took one for the team, and have a report for anyone that is interested.
Well, my tranny didn't grind, or have shifting issues, just noisey in shifts, you know metal on metalish noisy like a tranny should. As soon as I backed out of the shop, the gear feel smoother going into 1st from reverse., there is no metal on metal click when shifting gears now, just a soft thunk. same goes all the way to fifth. a littel smoother, softer feeling, more newish I guess.
I have no basis for comparing it to Syncromesh, as I was using 10W30
so I won't try. But I will say, it is a little easier on the shifts now. Worth $35 I guess. I wasn't expecting miracle shifting, so I wasn't dissapointed. Next time I am tracking down GM here local instead of trying to mail it to Germany, I just didn't feel like making the 75km/h to get it today.
