Default valve cover bolts on a d16z6

what are the exact sizes of the 2 long and 3 short bolts that hold the valve cover on a d16z6 engine? im tired of breaking them and i wanna get some steel ones from home depot or something

Bro, if you keep breaking them, that means your overtightening them. The nuts for the valve cover are designed to bottom out at a certain spot. Lots of people try to over tighten them so that the valve cover gasket will squash a little more and stop leaking. Once they get to a certain spot, thats it. They barely need to be tightened any more than a quick turn with a hand ratchet. If your valve cover leaks, just buy a new gasket.

no, see, i know how much i have to tighten them. i already went through breaking one this summer and i learned but i was adjusting my valves and i took my valve cover on and off several times. now the bolts feel weaker, and that's how i broke one of them. this is how i knew when to stop: when u tighten it, the little rubber thing under the head of the bolt will squish out, as soon as it does, i stop. but this time it didnt even squish at all! oh well, i guess i'll just go get a new one from honda...

buy one from honda...get the rest elsewhere if they cost too much.

Size is:

6 x 1.0mm torqued to 7lbs-ft
