Help with valve cover threads/holes for d16z6..
Alright awhile back i was painting my valve cover, i painted it then put it back on and as i was tightening it it got hard then just really loose, on 2 of them. I thought i just snapped the bolts into the threads but no the actual metal on the head cracked and broke off on both of them, like the chunk of metal that broke off has threads on it where the valve cover bolt is supposed to go. I said fudge it and used high temp gasket maker around it and the remaining valve cover bolts.. it held up great for awhile but now is leaking, and i was thinking about boosting my car, but no way in hell that gasket maker would hold..
Any suggestions?? Drill down into the old holes and make my own, buy a new head what?? Last resort is buying a new head..but let me know what u guys think!
If i do get a new head, should i do some upgrades before i put it on, if so what upgrades?? And do i need to do anything before i install the head, like get it resurfaced or some stuff?
