Sup guys....Anyhoo lets get straight to my freakin problem...Its killing everybody from my mechanic who puts all my motors in to shops...I have a 90 hatch..With a 89 JDM B16 from japan...Anyhoo when the vtec hits it bogs..And its a loud *** bog too!! So far i changed the whole distributor,cap,rotor,everything there,wires,sparkplugs..Did the compression test and it was all cherry...What can be the problem? Also changed ECUs too..And it still does it..Can it be the fuel pump or fuel filter? Or maybe the lifters? Should i just changed the head? Shoot i will even pay for somebody to fix it..I just want it to run already...I can even drive it because the bogging is so loud and it doesnt move anywhere once vtec hits...CAN U B16 GURU'S HELP ME PLZ..I LIVE IN HAWAII TOO..PLZ HELP THANX!!

 

did u check the VTEC solenoid and OPS to seel if they are defective?
are you throwing any codes? i.e. code 21 or 22?
Could be either or both.if the car is throwing a 21 VTEC solenoid valve it shouldnt throw a 22 until that problem is solved.
a 22 is vtec oil pressure switch.

 

its throwing the idle air contol valve..dats it...check the solinod already its all cherry...what else can it be?

 

maybe check the timing

 

disconnect your vtec solenoid valve wire and see if it still bogs when there is no vtec.

 

the timing is all cherry...we already disconnected the vtec soleniod wire and it doesnt bog at all..its like a shitty non vtec motor..not a ls but the si 88-91..
