Sup guys....Anyhoo lets get straight to my freakin problem...Its killing everybody from my mechanic who puts all my motors in to shops...I have a 90 hatch..With a 89 JDM B16 from japan...Anyhoo when the vtec hits it bogs..And its a loud *** bog too!! So far i changed the whole distributor,cap,rotor,everything there,wires,sparkplugs..Did the compression test and it was all cherry...What can be the problem? Also changed ECUs too..And it still does it..Can it be the fuel pump or fuel filter? Or maybe the lifters? Should i just changed the head? Shoot i will even pay for somebody to fix it..I just want it to run already...I can even drive it because the bogging is so loud and it doesnt move anywhere once vtec hits...CAN U B16 GURU'S HELP ME PLZ..I LIVE IN HAWAII TOO..PLZ HELP THANX!!

uhh, bogs or makes a really loud noise? that loud BWAAAAAAAAAHHHH is vtec engaging, as for boging, it shouldn't, replace your O2 sensors, plugs, cap and rotor

what the heck is bog. I usually hear bogs down with motors but that is only when the engine performance is BAD.

So when vtec engages the vtec changing over to the other cam is LOUD AS HECK??

sounds to be like its either choking for gas, cam is bad, or an electrical problem between vtec and the ecu. hrm. i'll have to think on this one.

do you have a vfac, chipped ecu? If you do its probably that you have the crossover too low.

It's possibly a bad solenoid, or maybe something more serious in the head. How's your oil pressure?

already replaced the cap and rotor...we disconnected the vtec soleniod and it doesnt bog...or baabababa...the cams are gsr...its like a shitty non vtec motor with out the vtec...the ecu is a pr3 or the jdm b16 one..i have 2 ecus..i use to have a vtec controller but took it out..one ecu is chipped and the other is not..ok in the morning or when the car is still cold it doesnt bog when the vtec engages...but once is warms up then it starts to bog..really loud...so what can be the problem peepz? can it be the lifters or what?

huh vtec shouldnt even engage if the motor isnt warmed up.....

it doesn't bog when it is cold, due to the fact vtec isn't engaging. I would say, put the nonchipped ecu in and replace the vtec solenoid and see what happens

i have 2 ecus and it still does it..i also have a new vtec solenid and it still bogs..should i just buy a whole new head? let me know
