Default Where to put jackstands?

Just curious where people put jackstands on the ITR, I'm having problems finding a good place in the back portion of the car. Also anyone ever pulled a tranny on jackstands instead of a lift? How hard is it? Thanks.

I've done this many times. I've never had access to a jack. It's a simple procedure, and it only gets easier with practice.

Jack up the front with the central jacking point (about a foot in from the nose, there's a visible metal rectangle on 98+, a plastic bump with an arrow on 97- that covers the metal dome thing...then, 2 jackstands right behind the front wheels, there are visible ridges (shown in your owners manual)...then, jack up the rear on the tow loop, and put the other 2 stands in front of the rear wheels, on the ridges that look just like the front ones.

If you use the jack points to get the car up, how do you tranfer the car over to jack stands?

If you are referring to the jackpoint behind the front wheels and before the rear wheels, then you don't.

If you want to get the car on jackstands, follow Aleph's advice.

Jack up the front with the central jacking point (about a foot in from the nose,
like he said, jack up with CENTRAL jacking point, then put the jackstands on the two front jack points.

then, jack up the rear on the tow loop,
like aleph said again, use the REAR TOW LOOP to jack up the rear, and place the back two jackstands on the rear jacking points. he never mentioned anything about placing the jack on the place where you need to put the jackstands, only the CENTRAL jacking points.

hope this helped ya.
