Default emission question

im wondering if anyone can help me out here, i have a 98 civic ex, but i have a 95 bottom end in the car, now i have a cel from the knock sensor, because it doesnt exist on the 95 block, so i converted it to an od1 ecu with the converter harness and the cel goes away, now when i go for emission testing, will i be able to with an obd1 ecu or what do i have to do to pass it? do i have to tell them i changed it to an od1 ecu or what? thanks for the help

you won't pass if you have to plug up to the OBD port. Simple as that. If it won't connect (which it won't with an OBDI setup) then you won't pass.

I know in most places if you have an OBDII car you have to plug to the OBD diagnostics port. Fixing that one thing won't help you reguardless.

I think you're missing the point here. Being swapped to OBDI, your car will NEVER connect through the diagnostic port and you can NEVER pass. Fixing that CEL won't help you at all.

Ricey is right. just because the CEL is gone doesn't mean your car will pass.

As long as you are OBDI you will never pass. Correct.
