Default back from the strip again - Round 2

Alright...more times for ya!

1st run, tires set @ 32 psi and stayed there the whole night
60': 2.338
330: 6.345
1/8: 9.554
MPH: 76.78
1000: 12.307
1/4: 14.639
MPH: 97.36

2nd:
60': 2.316
330: 6.302
1/8: 9.504
MPH: 76.89
1000: 12.251
1/4: 14.577
MPH: 97.45

3rd:
60': 2.344
330: 6.326
1/8: 9.534
MPH: 76.74
1000: 12.286
1/4: 14.625
MPH: 97.15

best run of the night was my last I had been launched around 5,500-6,000 again, but stepped it up to 6,500. Remember my VTEC engages @ 5,500. This time it only bogged to 5,000.
60': 2.293
330: 6.249
1/8: 9.453
MPH: 76.81
1000: 12.205
1/4: 14.549
MPH: 96.84

So slight improvement, mostly b/c of the higher tire pressure than last time. Besides launching, my main problem seemed to be shifting into 2nd and 3rd gear, where I experienced some mad ******* wheel hop. I think Ill go back soon and just rev the bitch to 7,500 and slip the **** out of the clutch. :driving:

those 60 fts suck ***.

why are you using 32psi? why dont you try like 20psi, go around the water box, and light them up a bit. If you are just dropping the clutch at like 6K then you are gonna get shitty 60ft times. with those 60fts it sounds like you are just spinning the tires off the line. you need to feather the clutch/gas some so avoid spinning the tires. spinning = crappy 60ft = crappy ET your MPH looks pretty good but thats probably because you are hitting 2nd gear really quick because of the spinning through 1st. lower your 60ft and you will lower your ET, but your MPH may not be any faster and actually be slightly slower.

Your tire pressure is way too high. Try 17 or so psi in the front and slip it from 7000-7500.

Silver Dollar, eh? Why not try AMS man. Hot lapping a few times a year for 200 bucks. Best time you can have in an R. I did it in my 00 R and wouldn't give up the time learning the car's limits for the world. TJ, Craig, and I had a blast. We should all meet up there sometime this year and I can play with my JDM R a bit.

im using Yoko AVS ES100s 205/50s

last week when i went ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=791215 ) I was using 20psi and my traps sucked ballz (anywhere between 93-96mph). Thats why i couldnt pull better than a 14.6. Even @ 20psi I was getting some mad wheel hop in 2nd gear. But like i said before Ill go back soon and just rev the bitch to 7,500 and slip the **** out of the clutch.

I'd be pretty happy with all these times. I went to the strip 2 weeks ago and couldn't pull better than a 15.03. And I ran 7 times in a row....I know, I suck.

BTW - Should we be in 4th gear right before the finish, or 3rd???

You should be in 4th, but just barely.

Hey, I just wanted to post and tell you not to get depressed if you weren't running 13's. No big deal, imho.

I was REALLY depressed when the best I could run at silver dollar was a 14.5 one day a couple of years ago in my first itr with spec b's, ats final drive, and 185whp. I reasoned that it was the stock exhaust and stock clutch and flywheel combo that sucked - along with the stock re010's.

I have since dropped .3 with a much milder setup - so a lot of it has to do with driver improvement, and most of all: TRACTION.

Keep your head up. Not everyone is a super duper 12 second itr daily driver in the real world. That's just on h-t.....

Like someone already said try lowering the tire pressure some more. Those trap speeds are good for VERY low 14's. Hint: I've ran 13's with 98mph trap speeds on street tires.

Check sig.

yeah, that trap is a easy low 14, maybe 13.9. My old R trapped at 97.2mph at 14.5 on 80 degree day with 2.3 60 ft's but never returned to the track.
