Default Quick question about head gaskets

I am looking to up my compression a little by putting a thinner gasket on my y8 and I was told to split a 2 piece gasket in half and I was wondering can I do that with a Fel-Pro gasket from O'Reillys or do I need to go back to the dealer and get a true Honda gasket. Thanks

James

depends on if it's a 3 layter metal gasket.

Most of those corner shop head gaskets are composite and not metal

if it's a 3 layer metal gasket, just drill the rivets and remove the middle layer

hmm interesting,..what are the pros and cons of doing this? i know it bumps the compression just a little bit but are there any downsides to doing this?

I don't like to **** with stock headgaskets, I don't want to have to worry about fitment or leaking issues. I don't know if they do this, I just don't like to **** with such crucial parts of my motor.
