Wastegate Question
Is it possible to have the wastegate hooked up wrong? Now I've done this a million times, but it seems like something is wrong, well.... something is obviously wrong...
It seems as if the wastgate is staying shut too long. This is a brand new 38/40mm Tial, I'm also running a AVC-R, the problem is that i'm overboosting past the set dial in. I have the AVC-R set at .6bar and the spring in the WG is a .9bar..... so wouldn't low avcr setting make me run off the spring only??? I checked all the vac lines..... let me make sure I'm correct thou. The line coming off the turbo, is tee'd one end going to the left side of the AVC-R solenoid, the other going to the side port of the WG. The 2nd line comes off the AVC-R and right into the top of the WG.... this is the correct way right? I don't see how a brand new wastegate would do that....... It does open eventually, but not until somewhere around 19psi... which is a little, scary for me being how its a new untuned motor.
All i can think of is, Someone lied when they told me the spring size, its hooked up wrong, or my vac lines are collapsing when I hit boost
ANY IDEAS GUYS......... i can't pop this motor!

sounds like you have the connections right. What I would do to narrow down the problem is to eliminate the avcr, run the turbo straight to the side port of the wastegate and disconnect the top port. If it shoots at .9bar its the avcr connections/settings. If it's still creeping you have something else wrong with either the wastegate/manifold etc.,
What duty cyle are you running at .6 bar?
