help! question on re-locating battery
what do i do with the wire that goes from the positive cable to the under-hood fuse box? any help is greatly appreciated. thank you. btw, i already searched and my question was not answered in the threads available.
The wire coming off of the positive terminal of the battery connects to that wire(to the fuse box), and to the wire that goes to the starter...and the battery negative and the wire that used to connect to the negative terminal both go to the frame....
Make sure to thoroughly sand all the connections....

Does this help? Essential what you do is take the positive cable from the battery and connect it to the wire that goes to the fuse and the other wire that was you're existing positive terminal. I forgot how I did it but it worked.

Ive never relocated my battery but my guess would be their would have to be a split in the positive cable somewhere along the line. Because the fuse box needs a connection and the starter needs the other. Doesnt the stock line do this anyways? PM PrecisionH23a, i believe he relocated his battery and might be of assistance.
my set up is this..I have a 4 gauge positive running to the front of the car into a distribution block. From the distribution block i have ran 1 8 gauge wire running to the fuse box. From the fuse box, I ran the 8 gauge wire to the starter. Now for the grounds, I ran from the battery down below my spare tire and securely grounded it with 4 gauge wire. The previous ground that ran from the negative terminal of the battery to the block and to the frame, I simply connected to the frame. Everything works great.
Oh now I remember. The positive terminal from the battery attaches to the starter, and there's another wire/cable the goes to the fuse box. Either the two were already connected and I just rigged up any attachment method to the cable going to the trunk. Or I connected the starter cable and the fuse cable then connect the cable going to the trunk.

You can buy the distribution blocks at any stereo shops in your home town. I have one in my trunk that is where my battery is. If i could i would show you my pics.
cool, thanks for all the help guys. i really appreciate it.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SMOOTH97LUDE »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You can buy the distribution blocks at any stereo shops in your home town. Few questions:
1) Dou you use any fuse in the trunk (near the battery)? I'm worried about some shortening of the positive cable going through the interior.
2) Where did you put the positive cable - interior or under the car?
3) Is the grounding of the negative cable in the trunk safe? Maybe it's better to get both negative and positive calbes to the front and ground it there?
4) Did you notice any handling improvement after this mod? In theory, replacing 40lb from front to rear is perfect. Is it?

1) I used a 200a fuse in the rear
2) I ran the cable under the car above the fuel lines; i don't drive the car in much weather other than sunny so im not worried about corrosion or whatever else might happen
3)Yes it is safe to run the ground in the trunk. theres no reason why it is not unless somehow a metal object is going to touch the ground and positive terminal together, in that case it is very bad.
4)I noticed a big difference but i had a bunch of other mods done that had an effect on it also
