why get lightweight wheels for the street and use your 'heavy' stock rims for racing?? Put the hoosiers on the lightweights rims.

I'm guessing that the Rota's aren't really that light weight.
I thought the Rota's were like only 0.3 lbs heavier than the Spoons. I think someone posted that the other day. By the way, how much do the stock rims weigh? And do the 16s perform better or are people just happy cause it'll look better with a little bit bigger rim?

no Rota's in 15 weigh 12lbs, compared to spoon's 8...hardly close in comparison...better than stock yes....but that's about it...

most people don't buy spoon wheels b/c of the way they look, I just don't understand why all of a sudden everyone loves these wheels....

people buy spoon wheels b/c of their weight, and Rota didn't copy that....
maybe it's just me though.....

if the 15's are twelve ****** pounds then the 16's should be at least 18 pounds not mistaken that plus the added 15-20 pounds of the tires you put on the rim.

I would rather stick with the a and j racing group buy for the 16x7 sw388's

I thought it was because the rotas are nearly a 1/4 the cost of the spoon wheels. And most people I know including myself like the look of the spoon wheels. Too bad I can't even get close to affording the real deal, and I'm not a fan of knockoff rims...

I just spoke with Cosmic Marketing Corp. (Rota's U.S. distributor) yesterday and they said the 16" Slipstream will be out early next year for the U.S. The weight is 16 lbs.

Just as a comparison the 17" Rota Sub-Zero also weighs 16 lbs, the 16" Kosei K1 Racing weighs 15.5 lbs., and the 16" Enkei RPO1 weighs 15.7 lbs.

I personally would rather spend the money on some TE-37's that look basically the same and are a much better wheel.
