16" or 17" Rims?
What up all!
I briefly touched on this a while back but the subject just came up again while a friend and I were looking at rims.
What are some of the pros and cons between putting 16" or 17" rims on a 2000 Civic coupe? Obviously, I think I am leaning toward 16" but I am just wondering if anyone has clear cut reasons?
I know it depends on your preference (looks or performance), but it might be helpful to have the pros and cons of both sides.
Also, would the same apply to a 2001 Civic? Aren't the stock wheels a little larger with the 7th gen? In that case, should they be able to get away with 18" rims?
Thanks!

bigger = heavier
heavier = slower
smaller = lighter
lighter = faster.

that's not completely true.. there are 17" rims out there that are only about 11.5lbs

True, but they're rare and probably cost a fortune. Plus tires are a little bit more expensive too.

Is it just me, or do those wheels not fill out the wheel well? Not trying to knock your ride man, but that isn't the look I was going for. What size are your tires?
I don't really want to slam it, so I am not sure if that willl have an impact on the wheel size I should go for? I'd like it to just fit the wheel well perfectly.

17" are gonna be heavier and more expensive while the 16" will be lighter and cheaper. 17" do tend to look better on coupes, but that is only my preference; 16" look great as well

Well not to be a jerk but "perfect" to you is different for me. I think 15's fill the well perfect but thats just me. 17's make the car look like monster truck.
Do what you want man we gave you the pros and cons like you asked for.

So true. It's probably all in the drop to. How would 16" with about a 1" drop look?
Thanks for tips everyone! Really helpful to know.
