Default eagle rods with arp 2000 rod bolts

i just got a set of eagle rods with the arp 2000 rod bolts and i was installing them today and i was torque them down and i got to 40 lbs and two of them broke. they are ment to go to 75 lbs i followed the install sheet and they still broke is that a common thing with arp bolts or did i just get some bad bolts

Rod bolts are 28ft/lbs.

the sheet i got with my rods said 28 ft lbs. also.but i used a rod bolt stretch gauge in conjunction with my torque wrench.i come to find out not all the rod bolts will torque down the same.

The sheet, that is in front of me says 7/16 bolt 75 ft.lbs.,3/8 bolt 43 ft.lbs, 5/16 bolt 28 ft. lbs. what one do you think you have ?

should be 28 ft. lbs. unless u've upgraded them.

Upgraded say CARR or 625, not ARP2000 that are 28 for 5/16 bolts.

i would like to see this spec sheet that you got with your eagle rods.......cuz I'm looking at mine and it says 28ft/lbs with moly.

3/8" is the 12 point socket you use to tighten the bolts with but the actual bolt/shaft size is 5/16".....so the correct spec is 28ft/lbs with moly lube.

order yourself another set of ARP 2000 rod bolts for those rods and hope to god you didn't mess up the threads......

once you get new bolts,id have the big ends checked again for roundness.torquing down those rod bolts like that could have made the bores out of round a little.

7/16 bolt 75 ft.lbs.,3/8 bolt 43 ft.lbs, 5/16 bolt 28 ft. lbs.

they meant the thread size, not the head size, when measuring the head, so you have a 5/16" bolt

but honestly, commmon sense would tell you not to try and torque such a tiny bolt to 75lbs,
