Default problem with NRG battery

okay well i got the NRG battery today from heeltoeauto

i put it in my car, tried starting it and it wouldnt start.

afterwards, i tried to jumpstart it, still doesnt work

i took it to get it tested, and the test said 11volts (or amps i dont know)

doesnt the car battery need 12 volts/amps to start the car???

any suggestions, is the battery bad?

thanks in advance

A battery at full charge should be 12.6 volts. With the car running you should see about 14 volts on the meter

If the people that sold you that battery have more instock and let them all sit with out charging em like that. will cause the battery to sulfate and grow crystals on the plates, which inturns makes the battery bad. It also shortens the life of the battery by having it sit in a discharged state.

its deep cycle, it will hold a charge for much longer and it will not lose a charge as quickly.

yeah, but 11volts is really low. I work in a radiator and battery warehouse. we have to go and charge all of our batterys if they drop under 12.3volts.
Deepcycles have more reserve capacity so, it can hold its charge longer, but it will still sulfate just like any other battery. That battery must have been sitting at least 5months to a year.
