Default Has anyone had this brake problem before?

I have a 99 Integra, quite often I will be driving and both ft brake calipers will drag and the brake petal will get hard. I took the right side caliper off and it looked good, I compressed it and it went in fine. I took the left side off and it looked good but when I went to compress it in it would not go in. If I opened the bleader it would go in fine. I took the piston out of the caliper and everything looked ok. Both slide pins are fine.
My friend said that it could still be the caliper, I think its the master cylinder. I just dont want to buy the parts I dont need if I dont have to.

Has anyone had experience with this before.

When you took the piston out of the caliper, did you clean it and replace the piston seal and boot? Also, did you replace the boots for the caliper pins as well as clean and re-grease them? These parts are very cheap compared to a re-man caliper and a new master cylinder.

I had the same problem on my '90 Teg except with the rear calipers. Rebuilt them and no problems since.

I cleaned it all, the piston and rubber looked brand new.

I regreased all the pins also.

I bought a caliper its sitting in the car with a fresh can of Dot3. I just dont want to put it in and find out its not the problem.

I think its the master cylinder.

It sounds like a brake hose. The inside wall comes away from its reinforcement & collapses. That's like pinching the hose shut...
I think I saw this on another board too. Wazzat you??
