Brake Problems galore :(
Hello everyone..
My Honda Prelude 1992 developed a mushy brake pedal and I replaced the master cylinder. Now the pedal is good with good pressure. Now the problems.
I took it out for a test drive and the left back caliper smoked and seized up after 3 minutes .
I managed to slowly drive it home and then changed the left caliper on which the e-brake linkage was stuck with a brand new Nissin one. Took it out for a drive again and this time the brakes seized up so bad the car would not move at all. Now I find that both the front calipers are seized up. Sometimes I can feel them give a little. What do you think the problem is ?
I had bench bled the master cylinder and bled the system after putting in the new caliper.
I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks and Regards

Search for DIY brake caliper rebuild. I ran through a string of possibilities because I didn't think it was my calipers because both were sticking. Ended up buying new gaskets for the calipers, pulled them apart, cleaned thoroughly and regreased/replaced and bled the X pattern from the helms, and my brakes worked perfectly. Other option might be a clogged line, in which the fluid is having no problems getting down to the calipers, but the line is not accepting the fluid to leave the cylinders. But you said you replaced your master cylinder so that can't be it. When you replace the calipers constantly be sure to keep the brake fluid full, as air in the lines will make your bleeding process a lot more difficult. Anyways, at autozone I believe the gasket set cost me around $2.50 per caliper, comes with the 2 rubber pieces you need. Expect to spend maybe 45 minutes per caliper, but I'd suspect this will solve your problem.
Thank you so much.
I was kinda worried that it could be a faulty proportioning valve.
And THAT is expensive. I read that proportioning valves seldom fail.
I will try you method and will let you know.
Thanks again.
