Default K24 internals into K20A - Block

Hello all noob to forum...

exactly what the topic says. I want to do a complete bottom end swap. will it and and if not why?

If it is not possible I need to find a stroker kit that will work. This is for an actual race car that I want to make serious power with. I do circuit style endurance racing so it has to be reliable and able to spin up to 10,000rpm. Max bore I can legally use is 86.25.

right now the head is shaved with compression at 11.7:1 all stock ITR internals. I want to see 260+ at the wheels.

Thanks for any inputs..

The blocks can be swapped, but the K24 internals won't fit in a K20 block w/out custom (shortened) rods. Reason is that the K24 has a taller deck. And short rods on a 99mm stroke is hardly the best recipe for high-rpm power.

But if the max bore you can use is 86.25, the K24 block isn't going to work unless you resleeve it to be smaller - it's already at 87.

Oh, and you're never going to make power on a K24 bottom-end all the way up to 10k rpms, even if you can get it reliable enough.

you've got it backwards, if you want 10k on the race track (long periods of time), you'd better stick that 86mm k20 crank in the taller k24 block and stick the longest rod in that you can.

that would improve the R/S ratio correct?

to the original poster, try this http://importbuilders.com . tell them what you need, and they can most likely help you out. i would suggest the k24 killer block, but i don't believe you could use an 86.25mm piston.

yes, it would increase the r/r tremendously, to the point that your powerband would be very small, but if you want that much rpm, thats about all you can do.

actually..you might want to reconsider that, considering IB has built about..um...ZERO k24's. unless you are ok with being a guinea pig.
