what block should I go to?
hi....I currently have an ITR head with a SI (1.6L block)....what would you recommend and what would be the expected/predicted power gains (hp and tq) or any?
should I make my block a 1.8L??? maybe get a CRV 2.0L block??? reliability is an issue, but power is too!! ;-) can't I just get a longer stroke kit for my 1.6L and turn it into a 1.8L??? thanks!

I`d build a CRV block. My loaner car is a pretty basic setup that makes 210 to the wheels. Feels like a civic w/ a v8.

Re: what block should I go to? (B_Cruz)
thanks guys...well, on the legal side, I will probably just drag....but on the other hand, I live in a rural area, so I drive in the mountains too (twisties)....basically, to have fun wherever I am! I am currently at 197hp/133tq (flywheel).
basically, I want to stay NA. Power up top is probably prefered, but I will lean that way when I get different cams and header....so I figured I would get a bit of tourqe (and hp) by getting a bigger block.
I was just concerned with the gains, and options I had with my SI block (if I can re-use or will have to just sell). The block only has 10-15K miles on it too...
I don't want to spend too much, but if I have to, I want to know now so I can save and put this off (do it right the first time)...cause I am still having fun with my current setup anyway.
So......what will give the best power w/ combined reliabiltiy. Or, maybe just skip the block, and go straight to the cams? who knows...
