Default too much oil bad?

I accidently put too much oil in my car when I changed it...theres about a quart extra in there...is that bad? should I drain some of it out?

Yeah, an entire quart extra can be bad. If the dipstick has any oil above the 2nd dot, then you need to drain it to that line or below.

yes this can cause too much crankcase pressure. which will blow your oil pan seal.

Actually, the real reason why too much oil is bad is that if it is up to the level of the crank, it tends to get whipped by the crank. This causes foaming. And foamy oil does not lubricate well.
