from past experience the red engine oil light stays on a looong time when you start up just after an oil change, like maybe 2 seconds. was thinking of putting in a little oil in the filter before installing it, or maybe pulling the ecu fuse and starting the engine for a few seconds to prime up the oil pressure. any comments?
its totally normal... the new oil hasnt entered the engine yet, so it will think it is low... once it is kicked up by the crank, then the light will turn off...

That light is a pressure warning, not a volume indicator.

Put at least 1/2 filter full of oil. When you are putting it in the filter, wait a sec, because it will take a few seconds to flow through the filter & then you can add some more. I've never had the oil light come on
during startup after an oil change.

Same here. I always prime my filters when I change my oil. That way there is less time that the motor is running w/o oil. Have you ever heard a Toyota or Chevy motor start when it gets its oil changed? It is pretty noisy. That is why I always prime my filters.

It might as well be green and shaped like a "$"
By the time it goes off, thats all you'll be seeing.
