Hey wassup everyone, i'm a new member to honda tech and I need your help already. I was driving today when i noticed my engine making a noise i haven't heard before. It's a hissing noise each time i step on the gas, stops when i release. I've never heard this before. two days ago i had a shop install a full catback cuz i was running a straight pipe and needed to pass deq, could this be the cause? The noise sounded like it was comin from the turbo. I checked around it for any missing bolts or any damage but none. Can anybody help me out? It's a B16 turbo. As for the turbo it was a custom turbo. somebody please help, i dont want to push the car hard until i find out what's wrong. Car still drives fine, just sounds like it doesn't.

 

sounds like a boost leak

 

I have a loose coupling on my intercooler piping and its whistles when I start to build boost. You should check your intercooler piping.

 

i hear the same thing too..its a hissing sound when u boost...but my boost stays the same when im boosting...i dont know if its normal
