Default Question about rebuilding JDM P72-2 head, prices and wear items.

Hello everybody,

I am rebuilding a JDM 94 P72 head that I just bought, and I wanted to run these prices through you guys to see if they seem a little high. In addition to the pricing, I also wanted to know if I should be replacing the LMA's that are in there right now. The head is from a 94 motor, and the previous owners bent some of the valves, but that shouldn't affect the LMA's right?

I went onto http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org and filled up my shopping cart with parts that I needed. I have to buy pretty much everything except the LMA's, rocker arms, rocker shafts & end bolts. Here is the shopping list with the pricing:

- ORIFICE ASSY (x1) = $5.30
- ORIFICE ASSY (x1) = $5.63
- VALVE, IN (x4) = $72.52 (I only need 4 in valves)
- VALVE, EX (x8) = $222.48 (I needed all 8 of em)
- SCREWS (x16) = $55.84
- SPRING, VALVE (x8) = $50.80
- SPRING, VALVE (x8) = $58.16
- SPRING, EX. VALVE (x8) = $59.12
- RETAINER, VLV SPR (x16) = $42.56
- SEAT, VALVE SPRING (x16) = $39.04
- COTTER, VALVE (x32) = $56.64
- NUT, TAPPET ADJ (x16) = $32.00

Total pricing came out to $705.04 + S&H. Does that seem like a fair price for all those parts, or does it seem a little overpriced to you guys?

I am also considering ordering a complete set of Skunk2 high-comp valves instead of the OEM ones. Do you guys think it would be worth it to spend an extra $100-$140 for the Skunk2 hi-comp valves for the small gains that they may give me? FYAI I will also be getting some Skunk2 stg 1 cams to go with the head, and I have a Skunk2 IM and a ITR TB on the way--the bottom end of my JDM B18C-SirG will be staying stock (maybe a thinner HG).

What are your guys thoughts?
Thanks

The ITR cams are to mild for my tastes. Plus I already have the GSR head, and I wanted to take it off of the buyers hands because he really didn't need it. I was planning on upgrading to a Skunk2 or portflow valvetrain along with Skunk2 stg 2 cams. Now I am thinking about just staying with an OEM valvetrain and stg 1 cams. If I had to chose between a ITR head and a Skunk2 stg cammed GSR head, I would rather go with the Skunk2 head.

Bump for a new day...I just want to know if the prices I listed is a good price or if it seems too much. If anyone would like to share any online Acura parts site that has the parts for less, that would be cool too.

Thanks
