Normally driving my car the clutch feels great, but in VTEC it slips a little. At idle
I sometimes hear a rattling sound coming from my clutch, which I believe is a
throw out bearing or something similar, and at high rpm's the pressure plate
doesn't grab as well. If everything is otherwise fine with my clutch, but a throw out
bearing or something similar went, and causes the clutch not to grab as well at
high rpm's do you think acura will cover it under warranty? I've had my R for 6
months and have under 8,700 miles on it. I have an appointment on thursday, and
so they don't think I'm crazy, What would be the best way to show them this
problem? Do I cruise at 30 mph rev up to 7000 rpm's and pop the clutch, or do I
start out in 3rd from a dead stop to show them ect, ect, ect. What would be the
best way to prove my pressure plate doesn't grab at high rpm's, because I know
when I get there the clutch wont make the rattling noises I hear from time to time.
Thank you in advance for your input.
Sorry VTEC not VTECH

I would assume Acura is like most makers and considers the clutch a wear and tear item like brakes, tires, etc. Unless there was a problem from the start with the part then its not going to be covered under warrenty. Some auto makers have a 30 day warrenty on the clutch, some more, some less. I dont have my owners manual to read about the clutch with me but your gonna have to pay to get a new clutch IMO.
Umm...excellent question. I don't know about you, but when I hit "VTEC" everything seems fine. Maybe "Vtech" is different. The funny thing is I never knew that those "VTECH" toys had clutches. If it helps, I know that you can call the company because they replaced my sons defective plastic engine. Hope that helps and good luck!

Anyone else have something good to add? Something related to my post would be nice.

WTH? I guess I got a point taken off for my post? Obviously he wasn't mad about it and just took it just as a joke, but whatever floats your boat. Anyways, I would think that they will have to drive your car, just make sure you go with them and just tell them what to do and what to expect and if it happens then they should hopefully replace it. If they fail to do so, I remember reading posts that "Acura" replaces parts, not the dealerships. Search for old topics concerning warranties and I'm sure you'll find the guy that can hook you up with "Acura" and helping you out with the warranty. Hope that helps, and it seems to be a little more related, right you sneaky mods??
