Default Clutch is acting up

My problems started probably about a month ago with trouble getting the car into first and reverse from a stop and random 3-5 grinds once in a while which may be unrelated. It went back to normal and went back to being bad again a few times but now I think it's gotten worse.

Sometimes I can't get it into any gear at all, even with the release clutch, engage clutch again trick. I don't think the clutch surface is bad because I can't get it to slip even if I try. It jerks and is harsh going from a stop to a start in first and reverse. There is not really any weird noises so, from what I've read, I don't think it's the throw-out bearing. As far as I know it is the original clutch and I'm at 77k miles. I don't beat on it (that much) and never been to the track.

Anyone have any idea of exactly what it could be or what to check?

any modifications done to the car? are you the only owner of it? from what it sounds like to me is ur pressure plate is the one messing it all up. just change out to an ACT. GOod stuff.

edit: this is just what i think. What could of happend is if ur not the only owner of the car, then the previous owner coulda ragged on it.

It was owned by an older family man guy and he was the only owner. It still had factory warranty on it when I bought it because he bought the extention. It was bone stock when I got it. It is still pretty much bone stock besides a cai and catback.

I thought I would add to my symptoms.

My clutch pedal used to squeek when going in, I'm not sure if that is the pedal shaft rubbing the chassis or if it is related to my problem. Another is sometimes my clutch doesn't fully disengage. If I stop at a redlight with the car in gear and clutch all the way in I can feel\hear the car starting to catch and and attempting to catch.

Based on an article I read on team-integra.net I am thinking it is maybe the clutch slave cylinder.

Any help is appreciated...

it sounds like a few seperate problems. first replace your fluid with honda MTF, im willing to bet the level is low. see what that fixes.

What was the metal chunk? Throw-out bearing?

it was probably part of the disk or springs.
