jbl 1200.1 for alpine r 15
my friends gona run a 15' type r off a jbl 1200.1 amp. the sub is dual 4 ohm. and needs 600wrms
the amp puts out 1200rms roughly at 2 ohms, and 600 at 4.
how should we wire this. have the sub at 8ohms and the amp at 4?
im kinda stuck

The only way he can run this safely is wire the sub down 2 ohms, but then he would be overpowering the sub.
You have to wire a sub to what the amp can run at, in this case, either 2 ohms or 4 ohms, and there is no way to wire a dual 4 ohm sub to 4 ohms, so he is left with 2 ohms.

yeh i went ahead and did it at 2ohms. he just turned all the bass and stuff on the h.u. down. it sounds really nice. tuned at 35hz it hits hard.
