Well before even taking off the wheels to do the swap I decided I would take some measurements with the stock shocks to give me an idea of what I wanted out of my new setup.
So I measured the distance from the center of each wheel to the top of the fender, the distance from the edge of the tire to the top fender, the height from the floor to the four jack points.
I also measured the height from the floor to the lip to see exactly how much clearance I would still have for speed bumps and driveways.
Well after looking at my findings I have a couple interesting things I noticed and I want to see if anyone else has found the same things to be true on their R when swapping out suspensions.
Findings:
1. Driver side distance from center of wheel to top of fender was about a quarter inch higher than my passenger side. Wheel gap was the same though.
2. Side to side the distance from the floor to the jackpoints were not accurate either. About a quarter inch difference between the back two points. And an eigth of an inch between the two front points.
3. Distance from top of shock nut to top of threads on shock were also different. But the distacne was shorter on the drivers side by .024 inches. Measured with a caliper.
Very odd don't you think?
And then I measured the distance from the floor to the bottom of each headlight. There was a half inch difference.....
And before anyone asks. Yes I used a level on my garage floor, which is almost exactly level. I used the exact same points for all my measurements.
Let me know what you guys have found when swapping suspensions. Has everything lined up perfect side to side?

yeah.. it's not gonna be perfect..
you didn't happen to write down the measurements did you? i've been begging for those for months from someone (although I know now, I think, why it sits like a 4x4)..

Yeah I wrote everything down. Is there any other measurements I missed? Let me know soon. The coilovers have just been anti-seized and set at -35 mm so we'll see how apexi's setup wroks. Then I'll adjust from there.
nah.. the biggest are floor to jackpoint.. and fender gap is somewhat informational.. care to post those numbers from the OEM suspension?

yeah I'm going to measure again with my neighbors calibrated caliper and then when I'm done tonight I'll post everything.

Hmmm instructions from apexi show a washer on top of the top shock cap bushing. They did not provide one and the stock shocks didn't have em, so what's the purpose?
