hey wuts up? i bought a 98 type r swap from a good friend for a real good price... tha motor was just rebuilt 3400 miles ago and had ctr pistons installed..it has some kinda crower cams, prelude injectors and a edelbrock i/m.. tha motor was bored out but im not sure how much...and so was tha t/b... oh and it has a str block guard or somethin?? do you think this was worth 2g? he just really wanted to get rid of it to put money down on a new car..

 

A) You purchased a motor knowing nothing about it

Most times engines like these go for $3500-4000, give or take.

I think you bought a stolen motor.

That's what I'm thinking. Why would someone sell a type R swap for so cheap, even to a friend? Also, being that he has no clue about the motor, it could be a GSR, or LS swap..

 

no im positive its a typer...i kno that much...i just dont kno how much its bored over..thats all im not sure of.. its a 98...tha kid i bought it from paid 4500 for tha motor with a ls tranny..and he was gettin so sick n tired of havin shyt break (not on tha motor) on his car that he just stopped driving it...and he was worried about it gettin stolen..so i was jokin with him one day n sed yo i'll give you 2 g's and my dx swap for it..and he sed ight if you do tha work you can take it...so i did tha work n i took it..

because you shouldve at least done a compression test. did it come with paperwork that shows proof of ownership? hey its your money and if all turns out well then to you

 

oh we brought it a few months ago for a compression test..it wasnt my motor than so i really didnt care..but all tha numbers came out over 200..i forget exactly what they were...tha motor rtan fine and was strong as hell in his car...

 

It is really hard to understand your posts. I suggest sell the motor, take some English courses, they will benefit you much more than a motor. That is just my opinion of course

^ What the hell language is this? Dude, you sound shady. I think you know what you have and where it came from. If it's legit and runs the same 30,000 miles from now, yeah you got your money's worth.

Kendall- a guy from NC who agrees with Matt. Don't dump 2 g's into anything without knowing everything about it.

 

If its not stolen and the kid is legit about it...more power to you!
