Things to check for before purchasing a used R?

how to tell
if the owner still has the R for sale by the time im able to go down to cali, are there other ways to know if the car has any problems besides driving it or been in a accident besides noticing a dent or some sort? anything to look for under the car and trunK? ..i dont think im making any sense

Get the car checked out by a mechanic or dealership. When i was looking for my car a few years ago, i came across one on FL that sounded too good to be true.. i had it inspected and found out the tranny was shot, and the motor was on its last leg.
