Default Buying a used type-R

Going to check one out this weekend, a CAN 2000 PY. It's been winter driven but seems to be in mint condition.

Anything in particular to check when buying a used type-r?

Thanks

Just read thru all the top posts and take notes on whats a possible problem, I have yet to see many problems except for driver induced. Such *** bad clutches, popped cv joints and slow moving windows.

How many miles on the caR and where is it located maybe a member here could help you take a look?

You can also pay to get the car inspected at a local Acura dealer. I believe the charge is around $70 and they run it through the same process they use to certify their used cars. Its definitely worth the money.

Well the car is located in Calgary Alberta Canada.

I will be getting the car inspected and getting a compression test from the Acura dealership. I guess that should be good enough.

Hoplefully I will be a new R owner

Good luck on your new R. Madx is a r owner in edmonton and there are some other members also. Is it the PY or CW R your looking at in Calgary?

I would make sure that there is no damage to the body due to the salting of the roads in winter. Besides that make sure that the tranny is snoothe as silk.

No clue about his JDM front conversion, Just saw him posting a tread about trying to start a R meet. I know there is one member from sherwood park that is a really cool guy that would help yea out somewhat.

I can do an inspection myself, but if you can't, i suggest you take it to the dealership to have it checked out. Definitly worth the time/Money.
