Torque spec for axle nut?

Default Axle nut torque 150lbs??

Im about to install some new cv s. Is the axle nut torque 150LBS correct??

Is it really necessary to torque the axle nut? We usually just hit it with the gun, or use the breaker bar till it doesn't go anymore.

The one time that over torquing/gorilla locking the nut is a good thing.

134 is correct. but i did 140 since it took like 400 to get it off

Yes it is very important it is torqued down right....the hub bearing takes a role in that as well

I think the same holds true for the crank pulley bolt. That bitch seems like it seizes on there and takes 500lbs to get off. Then when you go to put it back on, it doesnt feel right bc it seems like you are hardly putting it on tight compared to how tight it was when you took it off.

I broke 2 craftsman sockets trying to remove both of those with my 3 foot breaker bar and a fat guy on the end of it
