Yes it is very important it is torqued down right....the hub bearing takes a role in that as well

I think the same holds true for the crank pulley bolt. That bitch seems like it seizes on there and takes 500lbs to get off. Then when you go to put it back on, it doesnt feel right bc it seems like you are hardly putting it on tight compared to how tight it was when you took it off.

I broke 2 craftsman sockets trying to remove both of those with my 3 foot breaker bar and a fat guy on the end of it
