Default Crx Short(er) shifter? Want a shifter that the **** actually sits lower ??

I hate how high the stock shifter sits, and Iv even cut off half of the threads and it still sits really really high. Im just wondering if there is a short shifter or a shifter out of another car that would make the **** sit lower? thanks alot for any help

you could take out your current shifter and cut an inch or two off...then have it welded back together.

i bet an exhaust shop would charge you like $5.00 to weld it up for you.

just a thought.

I would go with the Neuspeed short shifter if you want one where the shift **** actually sits lower. I use it and it is pretty short. I dont think you should cut and reweld.

i think it would work fine as long as its welded good. its just a look your going for and as long as you don't cut away at the bend you should be fine. you want the bend there so you don't have to reach for the ****. you still want to be comfortable right?

make sure you mark exactly where the plastics are in reference to the shifter because if you make it too low the **** will hit the plastics.

good luck and post some pics when your done.

Check out this shifter...... It's stainless and the price is right. I don't have mine installed yet, but it's solid.

go to sppedpeople.com or procarparts.com for billet aluminum short shifters. I put one in my 92' Integra and when I got in to tread the shifter **** on after installation, the treaded area was still down in the shifter boot. I had to push the boot down for it to look alright but it works great. Just make sure it don't hit your exhaust.

Got this shifter 2 weeks ago. the thing is heavy and solid. Would make an excellent anti-theft device too (if you like clubbing people).

I like the feel of th stock Type R shifter in my car... But a GSR one is nice too... Right now in my daily driver CRX I'm using a DC sports one but it feels pretty damn short (it's hard to powershift) so I think I'm going to pull it out and stick the GSR one in. Then I'll sell the DC sports one
