Default AEM EMS Vs. Hondata s200b

I have an Integra type R with a turbo in it and I am going to be putting an ECU in it shortly. I am probably going to go with the AEM just because the shop I go to has tuned many cars with it. I was wondering if you guys new the pros and cons of each. Also, which ones are you guys running with your turbo setups. Thanks

both can do the same thing. Id go with whatever your local tuner is more comfortable and familiar with. you need more pieces for the Hondata set up(harness, OBD1 ECU, etc). The AEM is just a ECU that plugs directly into the stock harness. I went with the EMS but I think both are capable of doing the job.

i don't know if this user is thinking what I'm thinking but i have a similar question.. i'm assuming if your emissions testing only checks exhaust gasses, you CAN pass depending on your tuning.. however, if your emissions centre hooks up an obd2 scantool, will AEM EMS pass? (i know hondata will not)

It is a stand-alone system and replaces the stock ECU. Not a piggyback like the VAFC, etc.

NC OBD-2 emissions there is no "testing" they plug into the service port and if no codes are there, the car is passed. The ECU will throw a code if something is wrong much sooner than the car will fail the sniffer.
