how can i make a sohc greddy kit fit my new b18c5?
all you have to do is get a turbo manifold for the motor. everything else should fit the same. make sure you buy one that fits your turbo size
the manifold should fit...I'm putting a b16 manifold on my gsr...don't see why the flanges woudl be different....
is the kit intercooled?? if so..u might need to redo some charge pipes...but everthing elso should be ok.....oh...fuel managment..

O.K. first off, with some drilling, the SOHC manifold will fit on DOHC engines. Secondly, you DO NOT want to put a TD04H-15G on a B18C5. If you do not know why, then you shouldn't be turboing anything.

my bad..i though it was a Dohc kit...

the charge pipe on a SOHC kit is different, the I/C is the Same. You will need to buy a new Manifold for sure. The down pipe might need some modification. Other than that your good to go......except. Why would you want to boost the Type-R engine? doesn't that run higher compression Pistons?

haha wow harsh. im wondering when he was spool the tiny thing. 2k-2.5k? For a good low end that kit would rock on your car but it will quickly run out of steam.

ps. the greddy kit on my d16y8 gets full boost (8psi) by 3.8k i can only imagine an itr.

so very true! however, his car would be much quicker with it ON than off...it wont hurt the top end at all..
however as Jalopy has mentioned, if you can sell your current kit, get something with a little larger turbo. If I were you, i would look for the 18g turbo + DOHC blue box + injectors(if ur just lookin for some basic fun powaH), however you might even need more fuel than that due to the higher compression...might be better off getting a different kit altogether.

you obviously didn't think of fuel management did you? increased displacement, higher compression, bigger turbo......
mike
btw: he doesn't need to buy a DOHC mani

Pretty much NONE of the SOHC kit will work with the DOHC turbo/engine i.e. downpipe=nope, turbo elbow=nope, blue box=nope, charge piping=with mods maybe. Your best bet is to sell the SOHC kit. Also, I'm really not sure if it wouldn't hurt the top end. I'm sure the added low end torque would be nice, but having a type R motor, which usually has a great header attached, trying to expel its exhaust gasses through a dinky-*** 8cm2 turbine housing is not the best thing for power... boost is just compounding that problem.
by the way you can make anything work as long as you know how. SOHC turbo parts can be used on a Type-R. maybe not all of it, but with some modification you CAN use those parts.
super 16G or T3/T4 turbo kits(bigger turbo) or All motor (type-r all motor...can't go wrong.)
