as topic states...i have a crap load of oem filters at home and its about time for my first oil change in the s2k. i was just curious to see if i need to go buy a different filter for it if its not the same size...being my only car it would suck to find out its a different size after i start...thanks in advance
The S2K uses the larger oil filter that is used on most pre-2002 Honda models that used the B, H, D, and F series motors.

yeah but you can have your dealer order the special PCX filter that is the same size as the old POA filters. this PCX filter is spefically designed for the s2000, and offers higher pressure which is perfect for this motor.

in all honesty, I haven't found my oil pressure measurements to vary from using small hamp, to large hamp, to mobil 1, to k&n, to honda filters. It's all the same beans, just get a good filtering media that is made of high quality.
i have like a case of oem filter from my b-series and ive been using them every time i change my oil in my s2000 for like 2.5 years of ownership....it worked just fine for me....

These would be the correct filters, if you have been using the same for 2.5 years. Only recently did Honda come out with a newer pansy-sized filter for all of the other Hondas (except NSX and I'm sure there is another exception somewhere)

Check it out before buying a filter. They do seem to like the OEM Honda filter.

Please forgive my ignorance, but where do they mention the OEM Honda filter?

I've got a hamp on there now. I too was a little surprised when there wasn't a difference at track events b/c that is where everything counts. lol. Anyways, I'll continue to run the hamps until I'm done with them (have a few left) and then I'll go back to k&n or maybe mobil 1. Who knows.
