I bought various oil filters, as well as a 80 mm and 82 mm oil filter wrenchs. I first bought the 80 mm 15 flutes because that's what I found everywhere for honda. I tried it on a FRAM filter and it was clearly to big. After, I tried the 80 mm on a Wix filter and it was too small. I had to buy the 82 mm wrench in order to be able to fit it on the Wix filter. So is the OEM honda filter the only one that really work with a 80 mm? Are filters from different brand but for the same car not created equal?

Obviously different manufacturers do different things differently...

 

Well at first I was looking at the wrench size for the OEM filter because I thought the other would be the same. I'm surprise as why the diameter vary by more than 4 mm!
