Is is related to boost? Or HP?

Planning a build of my b18c5 in the next year, aiming for 15 psi/350 hp, wondering if there is any merrit of getting an msd system or something...

 

w/ 350 whp, you should be fine.

probably after 400 whp, you may need an ignition upgrade

 

most hondas run the same ignition setup....so a jdm type R with 200- 220 hp or so
same as a dx with 90hp....

so you make the choice...i think they are good for alot....but at some point the spark is going to blow out on the FI setups, even SOME NA setups need an upgrade

if you feel you need to do it. do it ..if not your probably fine....mase is right your probably fine

for those who have upgraded their ignition......have you guys kept stock plugs and just added for example the MSD 6a or 6al with blaster coil?

 

I made 505 with just a blaster coil and some 9 heat range plugs.
