MSD ignition...Worth it???
I was looking at upgrading my current OE ignition system with an MSD Extreme power cap, rotor, and HO coil and 8.5mm wires with some NGK platnium plugs.
I currently have a mild misfire under hard acceleration, so i know my plugs/wires are goin bad. I was wondering if anyone is using this system and or can claim any power/effeciency gains from this. Is it worth the extra money for an upgraded MSD system or should i just replace the OE stuff with standard NGK wires/plugs?

i would waste my money on the plat. plugs... there garbage... the MSD system is a great upgrade if your running boost...but the stock honda coil is more then able to provide the energy need for n/a car. i would say save the money, buy a oem cap and rotor..., new wire, and some g-power ngk plugs
You dont need that crap, I have seen plenty of cars make 500+ on stock ignition
Unless it is a racecar or you have high HP goals dont waste the time. If something is wrong it is because something is broken, not because something is not powerful enough

really high compression, different fuels, tons of boost, bout the only time i could see needing it. the factory system is really pretty good. plug wise i'm a fan of frequently changed copper or iridium if you want to change them less often.

I have a 01 Integra GSR B18C1. I think if you upgrade to a complete MSD set up its well worth it! I upgraded to a MSD pro billet distributor, MSD 8.5mm super conductor wires, external coil/igniter module and using NGK platinum plugs. To be honest I didnt really feel a difference after upgrading those components - I even did a dyno before and after and I only got like +1-2 HP. I've had problems with my cap/rotor wearing prematurely. I resolved that by replacing my engine ground wire and battery ground wire - Make sure you have a good ground to engine and battery!! If not your carbon ball in the cap will burn out, fall apart, etc. I just installed my final MSD part - a MSD 6AL digital ignition control box. This is what made a big difference. Starts quicker, idles smoother, revs quicker, accelerates quicker - I definately notice the power added to it! And the rev limiter sounds bad-*** too haha. I will be upgrading to a 2-step in the future. My complete MSD set up ran me over $1000 so its up to you... My engine is stock now but I do plan to build a performance engine in the future.
