Default Ignition Switch?

Ok my civic still doesnt start and I believe t may be the ignition switch relay. I turn the key and nothing happens at all, not a sound. No clicks, starter does not engage, nothing. My dash lights come on but once I turn to start it wont do anything at all. I can pop start the car though by running a wire from the terminal on the starter and touching it to the positive terminal on the battery. So basically bypassing everything to start the car. Could this be the ignition switch? I need to ask because that baby is 80 bucks. Thanks for any help.

if your dash lights come on when you turn the key to the on position but go out when you are cranking the car then it is most likely the ignition switch. The dash lights aren't supposed to go out untill after the car starts. You can also look at the back of the switch where the wires solder on and see if one solder joint looks melted compared to the others.

Its also a very good idea to check your main relay.

Thanks for the help. It was the ignition switch but those things are way too much cash so I just hooked up a push button start. Thanks
