What turbo should I go with on B16A??
Ok,, after much debate, I realize the T25 out of an Eclipse GST is not worth it on my car because I won't be happy with it. So I've checked out ImportParts.com and found some turbos so that I can make my own kit....question is which one would guys recommend if on a B16A. The engine is bone stock right now, but I will be building up with JE pistons and Eagle rods. The c/r I plan to runs is 9.2:1. Is this a good c/r? What turbo would you guys choose if you guys were boosting up a B16A? The engine is in a 92 Integra....
These are the turbos I was looking at....Garrett TO4E/T3 turbo, HKS GT2510 63T A/R 0.64 w/ internal wastegate, Precision Mitsubishi SCM34, Precision SC34...
I also saw some HKS turbo parts priced cheap, which I'm guessing are only half of one turbo(i.e. the turbine or the compressor separate). Does that mean that by buying one of each I'll have one complete turbo?

buying a complete turbo kit will save you lots of headaches, our kits come with an gt35-61 they spool quick and hard, the power possibilities are awesome on a b16 6,5 psi around 3500rpm...also dont buy junk parts
I am doing this too. I think you need to decide what your looking to run as what psi, are you running stock block, etc.... I am going with T25 though most people on the forum's do not recommend it. It is a small turbo an won't do you any good after 7200' rpm's or so. Big turbo's just take longer to spool
.
I am going to be running a T25 on a stock block only 7psi or 8 maybe.
I guess it depends on what you wanna do with it and your goals.

I'd recommend a T3 or T3/t4 with a smaller ar. you can get quick spools out of a T3 or bigger turbo, but with a b-series motor, you're gonna wanna be able to go up high in the rpms, something a smaller turbo might be good for. but dont get me wrong, they're are people making really good numbers with T25s. are you goals, high hp? or quick spool, constant boost?

A T3/T04e with a .54 trim compressor has the most ideal map for a stock B16. A lot of turbo places don't stock the .54 trim but they all can order it for you. With the mods you are doing I am not sure which trim will be best. I know you will need a .63 A/R Turbine. Little laggy but it will pull through the full RPM band of the b16. Hope this helps...good luck on your build!
well, i want to make at least from 250hp-300 hp, to the wheels if possible. I am going to rebuild the entire block and possibly run some GSR cams. I was going to use ITR cams, but someone told me not to because those cams aren't suitable for turbo. As far as the psi, how much psi do I need to run in order to make a least the amou of power I want to make?
do you have a website? most places I'vbe checked out have the DRAG kit prced at around $3,500 dollars. You sell the complete kit for 2,700?

Ok its on....I LOVE it..Spools around 4000 rpm, so it doesnt affect normal driving, I'm running 7psi and It's a bat out of hell. Can't wait to get it tuned for 10-12 psi.

What the **** comment is that? First of all this is a Tech forum, not a sellers forum, go elsewhere to sell your kit. Second of all you didnt answer the guys question. he wants to know what turbo is best for his application, not some turbo kit you are selling. Lastly, Junk parts, im sure you are refering to junkyard parts. There is nothing wrong with taking a turbo off a car. those cars you know didnt abuse the turbo, especially if you get it off a volvo or a saab. generally they come in great condition and have proven themselves time after time. dont spread bullshit so you can sell your kit.
Now to answer the posters question. T3 Super 60, T3/T04e .63/.60 57 trim, or a .63/.60 T3.

ok then, can someone give me a basic list of all the things I would need to get my turbo kit started? I know I'll need the turbo, turbo manifold, wastegate, blowoff valve, IC piping, and IC...but what else do I need as far as the oil lines and fittings? What engine management do I use? I was thinking about using the Hondata S200, but a guy at a shop out here told me to just a use an APEXi VAFC to control fuel and an APEXi AVCR to control boost....is there another simpler alternative?
Also, I'm getting a good deal on Skunk2 stg.1 cams....are they good for turbo?

dont make the mistake and go too small on the turbo choice
just because a turbo can spool fast doesnt mean it wont run out of breath before you engine does. If it reaches full spool before the engine winds out then you're **** out of luck. You'll lose boost pressure on the high end.
B-series stock tend to do very well with a .6/.6 a/r turbo of any kind or something in that area. no smaller than .5 on either side and no bigger than .7 on either side. finding a turbo in this range is very easy too.
the SIMPLEST fuel setups to run are generally the most idiot proof but run you rich as hell. top of my head are (1) the greddy blue boxes or (2) vortec-style fuel pressure regulators with a missing link.
you can go up a notch to the apexi vafc or e-manage. or you can go best route and get a modified ecu like what hondata gives or stand alone like aem ems system.
oil lines and fittings? for a general idea of what kind of lines and fittings to start looking for take a look at this site: http://www.turbocivic.net
it covers a guy's install of his greddy kit. This will give you general idea of what comes with a pre-fab kit so you can start looking for the parts you are missing. Basically, if you can get together all the parts like what comes in a pre-fab kit ahead of time then you've got everything you need to get up and running.
