i just bought new plugs for my LS-T and i usually use the ngk BCPR7ES-11 but the shop was out of them , so they gave me the BCPR7EVX-11 instead because they are the same heat range and everything. only difference is the plugs i just got today are the platinum ones. Can/Will this hurt my motor? ive never used the platinum ones so i just wanted to make sure. please let me know asap cause i need to put them in so i can finish tuning my car. TIA

 

i thought platinum plugs were really good. they are they same heat range? my GUESS is that they would be good.

 

well i was told by someone that he thought he heard that the platinum plugs werent too good for the car. i just wana make sure. any other input?

 

i know iridium plugs are very bad for cars running nos, but i thats all i know

 

wheres all the FI masters?

 

can someone with alot of knowledge in FI just tell me if they are safe or not?

Unfortunately i cant help much, but i do noe platnum plugs are no good for nitrous. i melted the electrodes off a set on my old motor.. had to re bore the motor and replace the valves because the melted platnum went eveywhere and made a mess of things...
I would think they wouldnt be good for boost either if they melt so easy.. i only had a 50 shot of nitrous and they melted, just imagine what would happen with 10+psi of boost...

same thing happened here except i was using $50 iridium plugs, it sucked

 

well i just called up one of my friends who knows quite a bit about FI and he said that the platinum plugs are fine for FI. im gonna try em and see what happens
