will my car run without a oil pressure sensor?
im taking out my turbo kit and the oil pressure sensor in the back of the block broke, the wire just fell out of it, i may be able to get it back together but it looks pretty unlikely, especially since i have like no wire to work with and its a pain to get up there. but what im wodnering is will my car run without it? i dont care if i throw a CEL, as long as my car runs. ooh my car is a 99 ex civic, obd2. I have obd 1 also so if that would make a difference let me know, maybe ill leave it in.

yup
yup
I had a friend do this. He needed another feed for a VTEC head to go along with his turbo. So he decided to use the spot where the sender goes. It wasn't a problem until the oil decided to come out of it on the highway, and he had no way of knowing until the motor seized. Just a thought.

unplugging the switch will not throw the light on. how it works is, the oil pressure hold the switch open, when the pressure drops the switch closes a circuit and the power goes to the light. so if its not plugged in, nothing will happen. no light, no cel. yeah make sure there is something blocking the hole well, like the old switch, without it plugged in, you will leak oil and have no light to tell you your out, kind of ironic hey?
