fuel pump problems?
I think that my fuel pump is going out but before i pull down my fuel tank, I want to make sure that there is not anything obvious that I am missing. I pulled the fuel line off of the fuel rail and turn the key on, No fuel came out. That is the only real test I know of. I can't hear the pump kick on when I turn the key on, but is there a main fuse at all that can be blown? If anyone knows let me know. Thanks guys!
If the main relay is gone the pump wont start. When you turn your key to II and the cel comes on, you should hear a click near your left foot, then when the cel turns off another click. This is the main relay sending power to the pump to prime the system. Its like $35 for the relay but it can be a pain to get to. Its behind the panel closest to the door, get upside down and look up in there and youll see it.
I just had that fixed. Main fuel relay, is it? Had it taken out and found out it was "burnt out". Sodered the heads in the back of chip and it was good to go. Before, my car would start once and a while, but not 100%.
