Fuel Pump Not Priming, Not Receiving Power

Fuel Pump Not Priming, Not Receiving Power
I had a very bad morning today. I went to check on mirrors that I had sent out to paint. As I was leaving (40 mins before my final), my car dies out. I try starting it but it doesn't turn over. I have had problems with my main relay not working, but my trick was to kick it with my foot. It would then work after that. So, I thought it was my relay but my VAFC would still turn on (it would not turn on when my main relay was giving me problems). I still swapped out the main relay from a friend and it would still not start.
So I figured it could be my fuel pump. I go to his house and took the fuel pump off his car that he just smashed. I swap his fuel pump into my car and it still would not prime with the key turned all the way. I know I don't have a fuel pump fuse since I tried to check for it. My final thought is that I have a short between my main relay and my fuel pump. But it's so random that it would happen like that. I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems and what you used to remedy it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you do have an EFI fuse.
You also have an EFI relay, which on your car I'm not sure whether that is the "main" relay. If you download the helms, there's a very helpful troubleshooting chart.
I would suggest chasing it down with aa multimeter but most people I give that advice to freak out like it's difficult or something.

I have this issue to. I think the problem is in the fuel pump it's self. Some time it will just not turn on. So i will wait a min or so, then you can hear it power on and off ya go. I am looking to go with the walbro hi-volume fuel pump. This way I can figure out what the issue actually is. I don't belive it has anything to do with the main relay at all. And yes you are correct the main relay has everything to do with the fuel pump..

Also this helped me with the issue as well. Plus it's a good security messure. I put a toggle switch inline with the fuel pumps power lead/line. So some times it starts to act up. I turn off the car and turn the power off totaly to the pump.... Turn it back on "fuel pump" and then put the key to start. Off I go... Plus it's a good idea to have a fuel cut off switch from them damn thevies.

Then again it could be the relay I should go down to the junk yard and snag another one or a few just incase. Also here is a article that would go for US 92+Honda/ACura's because the main relay has been around awhile. Here is a documentation on a quick fix for the main relay.

get a light test, and check the power, and the ground. to the fuel pump. take the seat out of the back and turn the key on if there is no power to the power side of the plug you'll have to back track to the source...

it's a 12v circut. goto your local parts store and tell them you want a test light. **** you can even pick one up at Walmart. The test light is good for now, untill you need to get indepth with your little project.

Re: (DeviousCTR)
basicly you want to know if your getting power to it.
also check your fueses first, under the dash and under the hood as well. you might have just popped your ecu fuse

Even if the fuse is blown, they'll be enough current to power a test light. It doesn't tell you the amount of voltage you're getting. Multimeter is 15 bucks. It comes with a little manual telling you how to use it. You can test your battery and your alternator. It's money well spent.
