New Sirius Satellite Problem
Many of you might remember by old Sirius problem from this thread...
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=604251
Well now I have a new one.
I purchased a Panasonic Sirius Ready Deck, and bought the new wiring harness for it to work. I got it all hooked up, and I didn't connect the sirius for a few days. everything worked perfectly.
A few days later I got the new harness in and installed that, and hooked up the sirius system, and switched over the power source from my 12v outlet to the battery.
When Sirius is on, it will only play through my front 2 speakrs, or my rear 2, depending on which wires the sirius is plugged into on the back of my deck. The regular radio and CD will play through all 4 speakers. Sirius also has no volume control. It's either off or LOUD. I can't find a way to fix it.
The manuals I have never told me what to plug the 2 sirius wires into in the back of the deck. I've tried aux, front, rear and just about everything else, but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have any ideas? I can take pictures to show you what wires I'm talking about tomorrow. I'm kinda tired so I didn't get too detailed. Help me! Help me!

worst case, you could pick up an FM modulator, and just use it as a pass-through for your stock antenna, truth be told I had one setup like that on the CRX and it sounded just fine. True it's no longer "digital" quality... but I never had any buzzing at all. And it was always clear as day...
Then you just set your deck to the specified frequency, and it'll work just as it would normally.

see I got the new deck so I could ditch my FM modulator and get the clear quality. That was my old problem, now I have a new problem.
I'm gonna go mess around with it in a few minutes, does anyone have any ideas? You guys were so helpful last time.

no pictures, my camera is at a friends house. So this should help:
In the manual that came with the original Panasonic reciever and ish, it shows a diagram of the wiring harness. (M2C457019)
The two wires that provide the audio are 2 RCA female connectors (red, white, where red is "left" and white is "right".) The problem is that the deck doesn't have left and right, it has front and back. See my problem?
You would think that there should be 2 RCA connectors in the back of the deck that says "Sirius" but no, they don't make it that easy.
General installion diagrams don't do **** for this situation. How and the hell can I get all 4 speakers to play Sirius and how can I get volume control for it back?

you need to ask the people where u bought the deck from..
cuz on my old sony xm ready deck... it had a rear/front/ and one for input..
and you should be able to put it in the input because your getting the signal from the sirus/xm reciever to the car deck for it to process and send out to your car speakers (all 4)
and on my new alpine IVA-C801 xm ready deck.. it has that too..
so your deck SHOULD have a input section, and if i doesnt, then i dont know.. im stuck

Did you get a cheap deck?
AUX is considered an input, you can put the Sirius into the AUX.. btw where'd you put your antanna?
It really sounds like you have the wiring wrong on the harnest, but you already said that you checked it out. The colors of the harnest should match the deck and everything. Good luck! - Monica

no cheap deck here. I got this deck: Panasonic CQ-DF903U
http://catalog2.panasonic.com/...F903U
Antenna is on top of roof, no problem there.
Wiring is clearly wrong, but I don't see any other way to put it. I thought I already tried aux but it didn't work, but I'll try again. Sometimes when it's on aux, and the sirius RCA cables are plugged in to the front or rear speakers, i can slightly hear it through aux. it's wierd. I don't think the colors match.

if you are using a sirius deck with their respective manufacturer's sirius box, they usually connect using a propriety connection usually usually used as a cd changer connection. I dont have much experience with panasonic stuff, you should be able to have full control over your panasonic sirius tuner if your headunit is sirius ready. If you are only connecting the to the AUX input with two rcas, there is something wrong. this will only carry the audio signals, not the artist/title/channel control information.
also, who do you mean you swittched over the 12v source? hope this helps.

bro.. all i can say is call panisonic.. cuz he's right, there should be special output/input plugs for the sirus tuner... can u give us a photo of the rear of the deck? and the sirus tuner? so we can help u better? or get a pic of both somehow?
well right now it's plugged into the "front speaker" cables, and that does carry over artist/title/channel info. I don't remember if aux carried over that information or not.
I mean that I switched over the power source because I had it so it would plug into the power adapter and now I hard wiried it to the battery. doesn't really make a difference, I was just saying everything I did.
Panasonic isn't a lot of help, so that's my last option. I will take pictures when I get my camera back from my friend. Probably on Wednesday. Pictures will clear everything up.
I'll also try plugging in the RCA cables to every possible combonation and let you guys know what happens.

Oh yeah, I asked about the antanna because I'm having a hard time getting my wiring through the lining..

pull back the weather stripping and tuck it in there, theres a groove it'll fit into. put 1 wire to the left, 1 wire to the right, make it meet in the middle of the window and wire it through the trunk. I'll take pics of that tomorrow if you want.
Ok, FIXED THE PROBLEM! (I'm an idiot, it was simple - learn from your mistakes, right?) The RCA wires need to be plugged into the CD Changer input. Why? No clue. But that's what works. Works perfectly now except for distortion at high volume. don't know why though.
Here's my shitty pics just so you can laugh at my shitty install job lol
