Hi There,
I have a 1990 Integra and I need to replace my ignition coil as well. I removed the distributor cap and unscrewed the front 2 screws ... however there just isn't room to reach the 2 back screws of the coil.
Must I remove the rotor to get to the back of the coil?
Any detail instructions on how to replace my coil would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help much appreciated.
I replaced the coil yesterday but there is no difference. The car still sputters at low RMP's ... plus the tech needle is still jumping around like crazy. So ... on to the next part. Now I'm going to try replacing the igniter itself. Just brought the part yesterday but don't really know how to put it in. I wanted to buy the entire kit, but the parts store only has the igniter itself.
I think the igniter is behind the rotor, right? So ... I have to take off the cap, then the rotor to get to the igniter.
What should I do then? What do I have to watch out for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Problem fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't even have to put in the new igniter. Once I opened up the distributor and got to the igniter, I noticed that one of the 5 wires you mentioned above was loose. All i did was tighten the wire clip and the wire now sits properly.
Put everything back after I tightened the wire clip and the engine fired up smooth as silk!
I returned the igniter to the parts store and they gave me a refund ... at first they were hesitant since the store has a policy that they wouldn't accept returns on electrical components. But I explained to them what happened and they looked at the igniter and then gave me a refund. I fixed the problem and saved myself a whole ton of money.
I knew that if I had taken it to a shop to fix, they would have charged me an arm and a leg to diagnose the problem and probably would have charged me for the parts and labour for spark plug wires, spark plugs, ignition coil, distributor cap, rotor and igniter.
Anyway I'm pretty happy. But I did notice one other minor problem with the wire clip going to the igniter. The wire clip that was loose, it was pretty loose and the rubber housing that the clip sits in has been badly damaged. Although I tightened the clip and now the wire sits tight on the igniter ... I wonder how such a thing could have happened? Could this be a sympton of a bigger problem?
What do I need to do to ensure that this clip doesn't come loose again? I thought of replacing the clip ... since if it came loose once ... it'll come loose again, right?
and since I don't have any rubber housings for the clip, perhaps I should just use some electrical tape to tape up the wire clip.
What do you think? Any suggestions?
Anyway ... thanks for all your help so far.
