I believe the finish on the lips and spokes are different, so u have to take that into account. I was gonna polish my lips but I hear its a bitch. Leave it to the pros...

I put the bike on the centerstand, sprayed some stripper on the rims (being careful not the get it on the tires!), let it sit for 10 seconds then scrubbed vigorously with a brillo pad. It took about 30 mins per wheel. The paint on the spokes and the other rough surfaces on the wheel isn't coming off without a fight! The finish is shiny, and looks great. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Pics were of aircraft stripper, but they seem to be down. Looked good, I'll be doing it soon.

this is true. I have an almost completed polished bike. Its such a pain in the *** to keep clean. Takes me about 4 hours to do an ok job of cleaning it back up when it gets dull. It will only stay shiny for a couple of days too. Definitely going with chrome next time.

couldn't you clear coat it after you polish it? Then it would always stay shiny. I plan on doing that with my wheels.
