does anyone know how to put 284 mp3 songs and a single cd??????
i was told that i could put 200+songs on one cd. some please tell me how. i have a mp3 player and a cd burner(roxio)
You would have to change the compression ratio of the MP3. When you open media player do you see the thing at the bottom of the screen that say for example 128Kb/s? You would need to change this when you encode the mp3 to a lower number. The smaller the number the smaller the file size, but also the lower the quality. I think I put about 100 songs at 224Kb/s. I don't think I would try to put 284 songs on a cd the soud quality would be horrible.
nsxxtreme, do you notice a difference in the sound quality of the mp3s vs the original cd assuming the bit rate is around 192k or higher?

This will depend on your equipment.
But anything less then 160K is not cd quality.

What burning software do you have? Where are you getting your mp3's from? If you aren't creating your own you are kind of stuck with whatever the person encoded it at.
I use Nero to create mp3 cds. You can make just a data cd and copy your files over or use nero's MP3 cd maker and have a nice folder list.

A MP3 is a degradation of the original no matter how you encode it. Will your ears tell the difference? That's for you to decide. The "CD quality" label is someone's idea of what "CD quality" sounds like to them.
im using roxio(easy cd creator for the cpu on windows xp) i use to dload them from kazaa but smethings wrong with kazaa. so let me get this right. i dwnload the mp3 and go into make data cd and pull hte file up? thats it? oh yeah is there a new place i can go to dwnload them?
Limewire.com is pretty good. Roxio easy cd creator ver 5 has a program called "project MP3" or something like that, so you can also record your cd's into a file in your computer in mp3 format and then burn them onto a disc.
I put all 4 linkin park cd's on 1 disc....keeps from having to swap disc's all the time.

my roxio doesnt have mp3 project thingy. does anyone have a link for a free upgrade or can some send it to me>?
You can convert the MP3 to AIFF, then back to MP3 at a lower bit rate. Some programs may let you batch-process this so you don't have to babysit it.

i started converting all my cds to MP3's for the car but after i copied them to my computer i played them back to check for glitches and such but they didn't sound the same. i was wondering if thats the fault of my sound card or the MP3 itself.
